Go Green Faster with AI
The National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) is pushing manufacturers to adopt energy-efficient practices. AI can help fast-track a few crucial steps:
- data analytics
- root cause detection for energy leaks
- reliable recommendations for energy optimization.
AI-powered energy management systems identify energy wastage, predict peak demand, and suggest load-balancing strategies.
Automating energy-intensive processes and adjusting machine operations dynamically and automatically can reduce overall power consumption.
Here’s an example of how it has been done for a customer from the tyre industry.
Problem: Water compressors running in full capacity without study of production needs. Excess of 3MW per annum was being used.
Solution: AI monitoring catches this based on historical and existing pattern. Running of all water compressors is not required for the production to be optimum. Prioritise and regularise efficient water compressors and gradual start-up to ensure balance in energy. Aging water compressors which drain more energy kept on standby for emergencies.
Result: RM 600,000 in savings per annum.
AI-driven predictive analytics improves energy efficiency without compromising output. This aligns with Malaysia’s goal of achieving 70% renewable energy capacity by 2050 while ensuring sustainable industrial growth.
